Big congratulations to the Spitfires (Tristan , Teo , Jack, Tamar ), Roadrunners (Grace B, Grace R, Ryan, AJ) and the Super Sustainables (Harvey, Karin, Marlon, Jamie) who took part in the EPro8 competition today.
Great effort by all. Spitfires came 5th, Roadrunners 6th and Super Sustainables 9th.

Throughout term 2, 3 and 4 Navigators 3 and the rest of the 5/6 syndicate have been participating in Ravenous Reader.

The clocktower

Tick! Tick! Tick! Tick! There was one minute to go. Most people would be ecstatic but the people didn't even bother talking to each other. Everyone  was miserable.people started leaving when the clouds started spitting bullets of rain.teardrops of rain bounce off the umbrellas  then slide down and hit the coarse pavement.thunder and lightning illuminate the steely grey clock tower as people start counting down,and then out of nowhere a small red filthy umbrella pops up like a peice of toast and grabs everyones attention! her umbrella brightens up the whole street! suddenly everone is exhilarated and waaiting for the 10 second countdown until new years. everyone starts counting down, 7..6..5..4..3..2..1.... HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Superhero treats

As the superheroes win the fight from Ultron they party at the avengers tower. they had subway and pepsi, burger king and Wendy's and many more treats.the dark knights batman's favourite food is american take aways and any other Gotham food. the mighty Thor of Asguard likes subway take away. he mostly likes that chicken burger and the potato shaped chips.wolverine the wolf of terrier has a big appetite. he eats anything. the mighty hulk, the strongest man in the world he eats sweats and lots of lollies.the best to last Tony Stark iron man the man made out of iron and steal he has a heart that is a crystal beam in the middle of his chest. he loves burger king.

Hatched

Slime dripped from my hand. I stared, awestruck, at the beast. It had a neck like a zebra, a long giraffe like body and a wise, little turtle head. It had cheaters muscley legs, a smooth flexible rats tail and beautiful albatross wings it could talk... like a parrot. "Hellooo!" it croaked, startled. I launch myself backwards, crawling like a terrified crab the crows near by screeched and took flight... my egg had hatched.

It took a few sudden paces forward, staring at me like i was the most interesting dinosaur in a museum. I gulped and retreated a couple more inches, beginning to wonder if this thing had an appetite for little girls. Once a few minutes had passed and nothing had happened I decided to stand up and quickly plan a emergency escape route. The creature watched me as I got up to my feet then asked  " Do you want a rideee! " In this particular crocking voice. Unthinkingly I nodded, then climbed on to it's broad back. We took of into the breeze. I would have a adventurous life from now on.

Curiosity shop

Willamount had just sat down on his hard, rusty chair, when he heard a ecstatic voice. " Hello " said the voice " I would like to buy something from your shop. " Willamount looked up harshly, but did not see anything except the luminous, roped sky. H leaned over his rough, knotted bench, and his eyes meet a jolly smiling face! Willamount reached inside his shop and took out a step ladder. " Thank you, " said the man as he stepped onto the step ladder gratefully! Willamount could now see the man was wearing a dirty, purple vest, pointy, yellow shoes, and strange long trousers, all from his own shop. " I would like to buy, " he said " one, little candle. " Wilamount looked at him strangely, but nodded. He walked to a peculiar container and fumbled around. He finally found a small, yellow-from-age candle. After Willamount  gave the man the candle, the sky turned to blackness. All the light had faded, and all that was still there, came from the little yellow candle!

Lift off

Flitter, flutter, flitter, flutter. As the two butterflies start to lift off the stack of dusty novels off the wooden floor boards, the books take off like a small plane rising into the air. Butterflies wings furiously flap while a small man crouches at the edge of the old tomes. Light illuminates the butterfly shadow as they have the man upwards. Lift off.

Today we had a talk from Jeff about how are you going to earn money?

Here are some ideas we came up with:
Selling Stuff you don't need e.g.  bikes, books, old toys , cloths, making crafts and baking etc.
Jobs e.g. lawns, dishes, newspaper round, walking dogs, cleaning rooms, washing cars, busking
check with parents before you start neighbourhood  jobs.
